Promoting and Defending Faithful Catholic Education - The Cardinal Newman Society

The
Cardinal Newman Society - their college information site - their recommendations for Catholic colleges and universities.

The Cardinal Newman Society (CNS) was founded by Catholic college alumni to promote and defend faithful Catholic education, following upon Pope John Paul II’s 1990 release of the Apostolic Constitution on Catholic higher education, Ex corde Ecclesiae.

The Newman Guide recommends Catholic colleges and universities because of their commitment to a faithful Catholic education. All the institutions recommended in the Guide are unique, each with its own special charism, approach to education, and campus culture.

For instance, some immerse students in every aspect of faithful Catholic life, while others, though faithful, serve a more diverse group of students. Some allow opposite-sex visitation in student bedrooms, while others do not. Some have a strong core curriculum, while some offer more electives and encourage specialization.

One type of institution may not be better than the other. But one type is likely better for your unique needs. Parents and students should look closely at each college to decide if what it offers is what you need and are looking for. We pray that you successfully find the college that is the best fit for you!

The Cardinal Newman Society has a Recruit Me site where you fill out their online form and Catholic colleges contact you - read all the information of their Recruit Me site!

These centers provide pastoral services and ministries to their Catholic communities, in particular to the Roman Catholic student population within universities throughout the world.
